Who am I?

Hi there, my name is SJ.

I am a university student who has always had an affinity for art and animation. I am mostly self-taught, though I suppose you could say university helped a bit! I am very grateful for the things I learned and the great artists I met at KSU.

As I am sure you have ascertained: I love creatures, and I love the macabre. Allowing my imagination to fall into itself and come up with beings that are otherworldly but still anatomically possible scratches my constant itch to create. I specialize in the things that make you sweat to think of and dread to remember. I love giving life to anomalous jumbles of jaws and beds of eyes lined with teeth. I aspire to create organisms that make the comfortable uncomfortable. How deeply can you reach into your own humanity? How far can you imagine casting it aside? Can you see what you would become? Do you dare to try to conjure it within your mind’s eye, or is the looming fear of insanity a threat latched too deeply within your psyche?

Creature creation has always been my passion since I was very young, but I found myself afraid of creating such a niche, of specializing in something so seemingly obscure. I have grown past this, and I am very comfortable in my skin as an artist. I could not be happier with my pursuit of everything squirmy and squishy!

Art is my passion, and expressing myself through art is something I would not trade for the world.
